What We’re All About
At Crisis Text Line, we help texters every day receive personal and confidential support through various crises ranging from anxiety to suicidal thoughts 24/7 through the power of texting.
Complete shifts and training online through text based platforms with support from trainers and supervisors throughout.
Accessibility & Community
Training is accessible through the use of informative closed captioned videos, written and reviewed practice scenarios, live observations supported via text, and tests and quizzes.
Trainees and Crisis Counselors within our program are part of a growing community of Deaf/HOH trainees and Crisis Counselors.
We’re working to hire Deaf staff to serve as representatives to advocate and advise us on community, training, and outreach.
What Current Crisis Counselors Say About Our Program
- Bethany Borsotti, Deaf Crisis Counselor
“Crisis Text Line has been such a wonderful organization to be a part of. Everyone is so friendly and eager to help any time you have a question or need help. I have learned so much from helping others and even made friends amongst my fellow Deaf/Hoh counselors. I highly recommend CTL to anyone looking to help make a difference and love that it’s something that my hearing loss doesn’t hold me back from!” -Holly Adams, hard of hearing Crisis Counselor
- Melissa Yingst Huber, Deaf Crisis Counselor
