What is a crisis?
“If it’s a crisis to you, it’s a crisis to us.” We want everyone to feel comfortable texting in, regardless of how they define a crisis. That said, a crisis is typically a moment of extreme emotional pain that gets in the way of living your everyday life.
Simply “testing” our system takes up space in our queue, which may slow down the help that we are able to give to texters who are in immediate crisis. Additionally, we're not a replacement for a counselor or a best friend, or a service to use when you're simply bored.
How does it work?
Please note that we are not a replacement for counseling or long-term medical treatment. Our goal is to help you move from an emotionally overwhelming place to a sense of calm, at which point you feel ready to continue on your own.

- Encourage people to save our number in their phone.
- Be careful with using screenshots-- we don't want to encourage others to "test" the system and take up space in our queue from texters who may be in serious question
