Together, We Can Impact Mental Health Access and Policy

Crisis Text Line collaborates with the federal government, state governments and community stakeholders in order to advance and influence mental health policy and raise awareness about mental health and crisis intervention in service of our mission.

Government partnerships are essential to expand our impact by ensuring that communities nationwide have access to our services. By working with local, state, and federal agencies, we extend life-saving services, reach underserved populations, and strengthen public safety networks.

Why Partner with Us #

Since 2013, we’ve supported over 12 million people seeking help, offering 24/7 mental health support in English and Spanish. Every conversation is guided by trained volunteer Crisis Counselors and supported by clinical supervisors, delivering expert help when it’s needed most. Our partnerships are flexible and tailored, from keyword partnerships to local collaboration with local community based organizations, we design solutions that connect residents directly to support.

Partner Impact Stories #

Our government partners demonstrate what’s possible when organizations come together with a shared commitment to improving mental health. Every story below reflects the power of collaboration and the many ways partnerships help expand access to support, strengthen communities, and advance mental health equity.

Together, we’re creating meaningful, measurable change.

Crisis Text Line partners with Indian Health Services and the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (https://www.npaihb.org/) to provide free, culturally responsive mental health support by texting the keyword NATIVE to 741741.

We also partner on regular webinars to Native community organizations who could benefit from learning about crisis resources.

We partner with the state mental health department in Delaware to provide free, 24/7 in-state support for Delaware’s 988 text and chat services. While we’re a national center, we take strides to operate as a local center, including coordinating with their mobile crisis unit teams, supporting the state’s reporting to SAMHSA, and participating in local crisis board meetings and initiatives.

Through our partnership with the South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, residents can text the keyword HOPE4SC to 741741 for free mental health support via text.

We also coordinate with their mobile crisis units and provide county mental health resources so texters can be met with a local response.

How to Get Involved #

Partnership at Crisis Text Line is more than collaboration. It’s a commitment to lead in the movement for mental health. When you partner with us, you’re not just raising awareness and influencing policy, you’re reshaping what’s possible for individuals who need help in their darkest moments.
