Have you ever wanted to learn more about self-care? Need some new ideas? At Crisis Text Line we know engaging with individuals in crisis can be challenging, emotional labor. It’s important to have a strategy and practice for filling your own cup up by practicing self-care. Take time for self-care during your lunch hour or kick off your day with members of the Volunteer Experience team to learn more about what self-care is, discuss what it means to you, and define self-care principles to guide your own practice. Volunteers will walk away with tangible tools to expand their self-care practice.

Writing about our experiences has proven mental health benefits including strengthening our ability to regulate emotions, and assisting in the healing of physical and emotional trauma. Volunteers will have an opportunity to build on their creative expression through the art of autobiography, mindfulness, guided sharing, and listening. Let’s come together for an afternoon of creativity through writing and connection. Bring a journal, your open mind, and a pen!
